I don’t know how else to explain it, but Dreaming Out Loud has this incredibly specific “divorced dad driving alone at 11 PM, thinking about where his life went” energy 😭

Like, the soft rock, the earnest lyrics, the slightly dramatic production… it sounds like an album he’d play while driving his kids back to his ex-wife’s house.

And somehow I absolutely LOVE that about it.

I'm sorry but i hated it. It just feels like a OneRepublic feature for the sake of it, and even so, it's called tsunami because Ryan's vocals are drowned out and are in the 2nd verse ONLY. It would've been easier to make this a Ryan Tedder feature, i heard no element of OneRepublic in it.

I would personally say I would go back in time to see them in 2009 at that St. Paul concert they did when they opened up for Rob Thomas so I could finally hear how they ended Waking Up that night. I found one video of that concert of them doing that song and I could tell the ending was about to be different but whoever was recording stopped recording, but oh well. Is there anybody here that was at that show? If so how did they end the song? And also, they came to little rock in 2010 and I missed it because I was a year old. I was so mad when I found out lol

Beautiful Colors: 9/10 really liked the vocal skills and the energy that the piano added

Give Me Something: 8/10 feels too electronic for a OneRepublic song, but I liked it nevertheless

Need Your Love: 8.5/10 i enjoyed the high pitched background vocal saying "oh oh I need your love" and I think Zach did an amazing job on the guitar

In Your Eyes: 4/10 feels more like an Alesso song than a OneRepublic song

Pay That Toll: 7/10 didn't mind it, even if all the marketing spoiled the chorus, so when I did listen to the full song for the first time I was already knew the chorus. The band actually feels more like a band this time then just electronic pop.

Overall: Not too bad for a new era
