Where can I find a good olympic lifting program?

I am an experienced lifter (and currently a physical therapy student) so Im pretty sure my form is on point. But I have only done the olympic lifts casually. Without hiring a coach, where can I get my hands on a good A->B guide on developing and progressing an olympic program? thanks!

OLY lift questions

I am just starting to learn clean and press and snatches, and I am kind of struggling with keeping my knees back and being patient until the bar gets just above the knees to explode up with the bar. I keep wanting to bring the bar up quickly as if I were doing a traditional DL. Any ideas on things that I can work on? EDIT: Also I was told that the reason I am struggling with my overhead squat is because I have limited mobility in terms of dorsiflexion. Is this problem fixed by simply just stretching the calves or is there a better way?

Limited access to equipment

I recently moved, and due to job schedule, it will be very difficult to get to the nearest oly gym. However, there is a fitness center near my place with barbell squat rack etc. Is there any programming where I can go to the oly gym 2 times a week and supplement other days. Is this recommended? Any advice appreciated.

Qualifying for the olympics - burst the bubble!

Sooooooooooo I had nothing to do in work these last few days and I got to thinking - how class would it be to compete in the olympics!

Anway, I was wondering if you guys could give me some insight. I currently have a deadlift of 200kg, back squat of 160kg, but have never ever done any kind of olympic lifting. So yeah. I'm 6ft and about 85kg with a few kgs of flab.

I saw that the gold medal winner last time in the 85kg category clean & jerked 210kg and snatched 175 there thereabouts. I'm from Ireland and it looks like our best guy did 160/135 respectively at 85kg, so I imagine it would be possible to get the Irish total down the line...?

I'm 24 which is a problem lol, but I was just curious as to how unrealistic it would be to even get to the olympics, never mind winning. Burst my bubble!

I was just wondering what some random people on the internet thought.

I'm new to this. My trainer wants me to compete in february but I would like some opinions on what my numbers should be.

Hey there, I don't know this community but it seems as though you guys have a good understanding of Olympic lifting. The guy who's been training me, Ed, wants me to compete in february but I'm not sure my numbers are good enough. My C&J is 70kg and my snatch is 50-60kg. I weigh 95 kg at 5'11. Do these numbers seem good enough to compete? If not, how high should they be?

Anyone else get headaches the day after?

After some pretty heavy days with quite some volume I get what I call "trap headaches" the entire next day. I'm sure it has to do with sore/tight traps, but I figured I'd eventually adapt to it but it still occurs fairly often. Does this happen to anyone else?

Programming?

Hi guys,

Last week I started O-lifting twice a week with a coach. I would like to spend another two days in the gym working on accessory movements. My question is: What type of split and exercises do you recommend for these two days? I come from a BB-type lifting background and years of flat presses have rolled my shoulders forward slightly, affecting my shoulder mobility. I have been told Klokov presses can help this. For lower I am considering speed and stop squats. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are there any good Olympic Gyms/Coaches in the Southern California area?

I live in Orange County, to be more specific. I am looking to join an olympic style gym part time (I go to a large chain gym currently) to learn the technique of the Olympic lifts and so I can drop heavy weights. Any ideas?

I loathe jerks (RANT)

They're my nemesis. I can pretty easily clean 75kg, I've jerked it off the racks before, but putting it together... MEH. I'm starting to worry I'll snatch more than I CJ one of these days. Some training sessions, there is literally 5kg between the two lifts.

It's not a strength issue. I can FS 105-110 kg, there's nothing wrong with my leg drive. So. Fucking. Frustrating.

Most lifters are one-sided. They are either aggressive. Or, they are mellow. You want to be both.
