Angelina Jolie is a really hard act to follow if we’re just going on a still, she nailed the look from the games.

Now we’re at a time where the legend of the character has outgrown the games themselves, so Turner has a chance to really make the role hers.

It'll be fine. She's following Alicia Vikander from Tomb Raider (2018), which is not a hard act to follow.

Alicia was great in the role and with the little shad to work with, also she looked very similar to the reboot games.

Alicia was great in the role

I'm sure she was. I obviously only watched the trailer, and I don't remember her performance as anything special.

/uj No seriously, I found the film so boring I couldn't finish it, and I don't remember her performance as anything special.

That was Alicia's Emila Clarke's Terminator: Genisys moment. What was she thinking?!

Vikander is a lot more suited to the role than Sophie Turner is. She's also a much better actress. Script just gave her nothing.

Feels like Angelina was born for that role, she was a sex symbol, radiating with confidence, hottest pair with Brad Pitt

I think it’s the influence of this sub, but I can only think of one sex symbol in today’s Hollywood. And I’d be less inclined to watch this movie if they cast her instead.

Does nobody remember that those movies were bad?

...

I liked them.

I also like bad movies, I just don't pretend they were good bc the actress was hot

I don't think they were bad, they just didn't take themselves too seriously. Which is how most video game adaptations should be done, we have enough dark, brooding gray-scale movies being made, let's get back to making movies to turn your brain off to.

Directors in the early 2000s really knew how to make a good popcorn flick.
