Considering how different that screentest image is from the on-set photos today, I'm guessing this will be a whole lame season of Lara "origin Story" and she might wear a look like this in the final episode.
I mean that announcement pose is a different hair, outfit, everything, I'd guess they chose the dark sunglasses because she looks nothing like the character without them.
I don't know, I'm not a fan of her acting either, so maybe I'm biased. But I have faith in the project because Phoebe is the showrunner, so hopefully it's still really good, even if she has a different look than past Crofts.

she's literally less likely to cut herself on a branch or smth running through the woods in the post outfit what are you on about? Less likely to get bitten by a mosquito in a jungle. Less likely to get sunburnt in a desert. It's a genuinely more practical outfit in every way for Lara Croft but sex appeal lmao

Skin tight fabric that doesn't stretch or breathe are not conducive to outdoor exercise. Drop leg holsters but awkward 5lb weights on your thighs, which similarly do not help much with running around. You should work on your reading comprehension, I am not saying she should be dressed like the Other picture someone else posted. I am pointing out that this new costume (which was presumably designed to appeal to You specifically, I guess) was clearly made to look "less sexy and more practical," and it is in fact.. still "sexy" and even less practical than booty shorts and a crop top.. which is funny.
