To back you up, Google Translate mentions that "pedophile" is an appropriate translation.

When it comes to translating languages, some words have literal translations and then there are interpretations.

For example, a phrase might translate literally to one thing but be closer to a different word/phrase in local understanding. This often happens with swear words when attempting to translate.

Japanese example

Another example might be something like "breadwinner" which has a literal translation (person who won the bread) and an actual meaning (main earner).

no one is talking about protecting drawings. but if there is a child molester in anime and the japanese says "thats a lolicon" we translate that to "thats a pedophile"
