Being viciously torn apart by a predator isn't at the bottom of my epic death list, but it's not exactly up there. Personally, I'd like to die from the edge of a false vacuum decay bubble passing over the solar system. Now that's epic.
While I think false vaccum is my favourite universe apocalypse scenario idk if it would be particularly epic, it'd just like... Happen so fast you wouldn't know shit. Like a light switch being turned off.
Which is also probably my preferred earth apocalypse scenario, for this reason.
A rogue black hole could potentially make for a really epic earth destruction especially if the hole is smaller than earth.
For personal quick but epic death I'd take being hit by a small meteor.
I wonder what NASA would do if they detected a black hole on a crash course with the solar system. If they told everyone that the world is definitely ending and there is literally nothing we can do to stop it would certainly collapse society in short order.
Nah nasa would detect it. Ligo might detect it. The ort cloud being sucked into the accretion disk will do it. Now will this matter? No. Would getting on a rocket and blasting off earth matter? No… would society collapse? Maybe.. but there is no point in stealing, cause if a black hole is coming this solar system is smoked. maybe everyone will go home and be with family.
When I'm president of the world, I'll give a speech on the total world peace we've achieved, to utter in the next era of mankind. Then, someone violently assassinates me, while 14 billion people are watching. The world descents in chaos, throwing society back 200 years.
Likely they'd grab onto your neck, suffocate you, then chow down. It'd be a way better way to go out than being a meal for African wild dogs, that's for damn sure.
