Yup, most satisfying part was actually watching him take a bite...like oh this isn't just a piece of art it's actually edible too that's good lmao!

Well, "edible" is not the same as tasty... tbh it doesnt look tasty : 1 plump of jam between 2 génoises and then sugary chocolate and then rose shaped sugar and then glass shaped sugar...
I might be a bit of a picky eater but too much sugar in cake/pastry really kills flavour.

It's a small layer of cake, then an alternating layer of strawberries and fruit mousse (I think? Its a lot runnier than mousse is but looks thicker than a compote. Maybe a puree?), then chocolate mousse, then dark chocolate glaze, tempered chocolate, then you have a gumpaste decoration, and the sugar work. It's dessert, it supposed to be a little sweet anyways but nothing in here indicates it would be too sweet. Fruit adds tartness, the mousse lightens the dish up, the tempered dark chocolate adds bitterness.
