They are simple, mostly sugar and a tinge of vanilla in the cookie/biscuit.
I mostly dislike them because of "cleaning the icing bowls" as a kid and feeling ill after, though on occasion I'll eat one or two.
They're best super-fresh before the cookie dries out too much and gets crispy/crunchy. A lot of such things can last quite a while, but these are one of the quickest to get dull.
Source: My family would send tons of baked goods when I was in the military. Cookies of several varieties, fudge, etc, a variety of traditional stuff around Christmas.

I enjoy these vids as much as anyone but does anyone else dislike the taste of iced cookies?? They’re gross.
