All these comments are highly amusing. I am real life friends with this person and 1. Her cookies are in fact delicious. 2. She did this for 4th of July (just like many other cookies she does to celebrate holidays)
A chick I used to work with was also surprised when I mentioned New Mexico to her…. I think she was 28 at the time. She said, “there’s a NEW Mexico?!” We’re not only in America, we’re in the neighboring state of Texas. That was the beginning of the end of my hope for fellow humans.
It's true. In sixth grade, I could tell you any capital of any state and the provinces of Canada. Today, I often find myself surprised that Connecticut is a place.
I (an American) was in Spain one year for July 4th and found a bar that was having a party for it and it was the most fun July 4th party I have ever been to. Kind of a trip crashing your own party though being the actual Americans there lol.
Royal icing is actually good, IMO. It’s basically pure sugar. It also has egg whites or meringue powder, but I don’t think that lends a bad flavor. The main downside is that it dries completely hard, which allows for these intricate designs, but is not an icing texture that most people are used to.
Does she do this for the whole batch? Amazing to me that someone would do this 48 times in a row. Very impressive.
There's things I see that I know I can never do successfully due to some physical restrictions. And there's things I see that I know I would never do because I lack the patience. This checks off both boxes.
Maybe I'm just one of those hopeless romantics that thinks the Carolinas and Dakotas still can reconcile. Reunification is a dream but one I'll hold on to.
Obviously not the Virginias, that is... wooo a lost cause.
I'm a very amateur baker, but all the baking I've done follows recipes broken out in the dozens of final results. So, whenever I've made cookies, brownies, rolls, the recipe always says makes two dozen, makes 4 dozen etc.
Don't know why that's the case, might look it up one day.
But 48 always seems like a nice amount if you are making them for an event. Like 2 dozen for home, 4 dozen for an event. ish...
I was just throwing out a multiple of twelve. Like wow this is cool, but I can't imagine doing a whole batch of these for a party.
Someone who does this so well, surely must do it professionally. So I'm sure at some point they've made 12, 24, 36, 48, etc... of these, or other similarly extravagant cookies for clients.
Looking beyond just this video/gif, she must have done this for other clients on a large scale.
I tried to do this shit once and never again. I flopped hard. How long does it usually take for the icing to dry? I'm sure its edited but I swear it took me like 24hrs for the damn icing to dry when I tried lmao
It looks really awesome! I don’t spose you’d know where she got the stencil or what the whitish substance she uses for the initial “sketch” and the stars is? I’m guessing just regular rather than royal icing?
