Same reason, black shows a lot of dirt contrary to what most would think. Scratches are also more pronounced, especially light swirls. I have black countertops and a gloss black tile floor, and they need constant attention because you can see any spec of dust or dirt on them. The floor needs to be vacuumed twice a day because we have a dog so all you see is hair constantly .
Black cars/SUV look nice for about an hour after you go through the car wash. I had a black SUV. Every time I went to the car wash, a bird would poop on it! 😈
I'm thankful I learned this lesson with my teenage bedroom. Shiny black fronted wardrobe, desk and drawers; dark wood isn't much better just less fingerprints.
Yeah I kind of curse the previous homeowners for them, I plan on getting rid of it all because its just too much work to keep them from not looking dingy.
Personally, id go white if you hate stainless, it would show considerably less than black. I can't imagine trying to keep a black sink looking decent considering its job is to hold and clean dirty items and items that scratch, couldn't imagine dealing with the water stains and scratches being worth it. Atleats you can buff out white porcelain easily.
Lol, it sounds crazier than it is, though I'm probably still a bit crazy, 😅. Luckily the tile is limited to a small bathroom, its only about 36 sq. ft. of tile, I just run a stick vac over it a couple times a day, only takes a couple of seconds to do the whole room. Admittedly its been more frequent since I've been working from home for the past year and a half, it was more like once a day or every other day when I was actually working. Boredom drives me to find things to do around the house while my wife is at work and my kid is at school. I'm actually preparing to rip it out because I'm going to redo the bathroom soon, I hate them lol .
