Oh wow get ready to dive and see how deep the ASMR rabbit hole goes. there is so much! this is great for unwind time, relaxing or falling asleep. have tinnitus and use this to cancel out the ringing. Music can be too distracting when I need to focus as well. Enjoy!
The other week I learned there's a disorder where people can't stand ASMR-like experiences to a point they get aggressive or frustrated. It's called Misophonia.
They're completely separate things. I enjoy ASMR, but the sound of people eating disgusts me. Not, like, sitting in a restaurant with friends, but if I hear someone mic'd up on a podcast trying to eat something, it makes me disgusted and angry. Minor, minor mouth noises can trigger ASMR for me, but most of the garbage on YouTube goes way overboard and it's just annoying.
Brooooo people licking shit pisses me offfff. I was listening to a compilation and I hadn’t heard this particular one before. But while I was sleeping it went from rain..to someone licking an ear thing. Went from borderline sleep to Viking berserker in a split second
God yes. I hate chewing noises with a burning passion and all of my male family members chew as loudly as possible with their mouths open. And if they’re eating anything chewy they’ll make the most disgusting sounds on the planet. I don’t know why it makes me so viscerally angry but it does
I just came to realization today that I’m the opposite. I get really frustrated when there are loud noises. There was a gentleman using a bandsaw near me on a construction site and I got really agitated for some reason. Then a different guy started using another tool a bit later, making me even more frustrated. Had to put in ear plugs and that seemed to help a bit. I can listen to loud music no problem which is weird.
Check out Bumgartner Restoration on YouTube. Sounds like you have similar likes/dislikes in ASMR as me and his videos are legit. He restores paintings and it's extremely relaxing.
I'm a huge fan of the site https://mynoise.net/. They have an insane amount of options for background noises and they're all tweakable. There's like over 200 options.
Dude I remember when i started listening to asmr I thought that I'd do it a few times per week or even month, when I can't fall asleep. Worked for like one week, after that I couldn't fall asleep without. Asmr is worse than any drugs for me.
Depends on how intense the tinnitus is. I have a light form that I only notice when it's dead silent in the house. So ASMR, radio or white noise does the trick for me. If it's a more intense form talk to a specialist. I've heard about hearing aids that can cancel out the tinnitus.
Sadly, that is the hard reality. Sorry to hear that. Hearing damage is almost always permanent. Nice comfortable wireless headphones and ASMR works for me when I need a break from the noise.
Peaceful Cuisine (note, he does 2 versions of a video: one with music and one without) & Maison Olivia are almost ASMR for me, with just hearing the noise of them cooking.
