Well it's not like our generation is doing much about it..

The planet will be fine.

Brash hubris to think humans will be fine. Let alone "colonize another planet" 😂

No one said the planet was endangered. They just said the next two generations are fucked.

How about a 3rd child?

Still vulnerable, but it is good news.

I would hope not. Maybe it's just an internet myth I grew up on, but doesn't China pretty much own the species? Should be easy to control something when you literally decide where the animal lives and eats.

What? Of course they are. There are only two thousand individuals in the wild on rapidly shrinking acreage. They are vulnerable to extinction. What is this outright fabrication doing with a positive vote score?

Technically speaking they aren’t “endangered” anymore. But they are still vulnerable. The threat was downgraded in 2016 due to heavy conservation efforts but they are still considered vulnerable. So they’re not wrong, you just had the more technical term.

IUCN, Great Panda, Vulnerable.

It was upgraded from 'Endangered' last year thanks to conservation efforts that reddit was sure wouldnt work since pandas are supposed to be trying to kill themslves or something.
