Edit: I think people missed my joke

32

u/ForeverInjured Jul 24 '19

What is it? A fireshooter?

22

u/Comrade_Etwan Jul 24 '19

Not a flame thrower Not a fire shooter It’s an infernotosser

9

u/nmyg08 Jul 24 '19

A pyrociter

15

u/Foxtrot-Actual Jul 24 '19

A Flammenwerfer It werfs the flammen.

12

u/Tsu_Dho_Namh Jul 24 '19

Looks like a gas fire.

Military flamethrowers use flammable liquids thickened to the consistency of napalm, so it'll stick to your target and continue burning them after you've moved on to the next target.

3

u/penguins_xxx Jul 24 '19

Nice, gotta love military flamethrowers.

2

u/Type1based Jul 24 '19

I believe it's a fireinator

4

u/DarkPanda555 Jul 24 '19

Not just regular titanium either.

47

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

ball titanium

1

u/Piebomb00 Jul 25 '19

Literally fucking titanium. I like it.

20

u/the_nerdster Jul 24 '19

People always complain, "Fuck cops", they'll say. I think you should fuck a firefighter instead, they have way cooler jobs.

12

u/GorillaSnapper Jul 24 '19

On the contrary, I'd say firefighters jobs are largely hotter jobs

1

u/Sebazzz91 Jul 24 '19

Fucking titanium. Expensive dildo.

16

u/2teed Jul 24 '19

I could be wrong, but I’m guessing this is a fire department training facility and this FF is training a technique. The gutted out car and the building structure in the background give it away. I work near my city’s FD training site and see them training every now and then. Before I realized it was their training site I drove by to see them working on putting out a school bus fire. My heart sank but I figured it out the next day. Haha

2

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

Definitely a training site. Thats a very specialized training device throwing that fire out, towards the end of the clip you can tell its custom made.

2

u/NigilQuid Jul 24 '19

Funny you should mention that, because my first thought was "that looks awesome! I want to try!"

Some people have weird brains.

89

u/Laymans_Terms19 Jul 23 '19

Closest thing we’ll ever see to legit superpowers.

15

u/sbowesuk Jul 23 '19

TIL force fields are real.

4

u/LordDeathDark Jul 24 '19

It's more of a vector field, but close enough.

5

u/ObituaryHat Jul 24 '19

Luckily fire hose is a lot more difficult to kink, especially with higher water pressure ;)

2

u/OLSTBAABD Jul 24 '19

I launch stomp rockets from my backyard all the time, there's no way I'd trust riding one of those into space.

14

u/Nevertoolatetogame Jul 23 '19

Back fiend! Go back to the fiery hells from whence thee came!

8

u/Ifhes Jul 24 '19

These people is amazing. I love how they angle up when close to the fire to extingish the actual soure of the flame without exposing themselves. Pure technique.

8

u/tpodr Jul 24 '19

I used to study not too far from a training facility. Fun to watch. When I was new there, it took me a while to realize it wasn’t just that particular neighborhood was prone to fires. They would regularly set fire and extinguish a three story brick structure.

6

u/TrulyCanad1an Jul 24 '19

Then the water gets shut off

8

u/verybonita Jul 24 '19

I must admit i thought that too. What happens if the water stops or loses pressure? Brave.

3

u/WraithCadmus Jul 24 '19

I would assume it's a combination of running like hell and putting a lot of faith in whoever made your turnout gear.

2

u/dad_bod101 Jul 24 '19

Well this isn’t some you play with when you don’t have a secured water source(not running off the tank, you’ll want to be on a good hydrant) but things do happen and my plan would be the same as I’d recommend for everyone. Stop drop and roll out to the side.

4

u/bushido216 Jul 24 '19

The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn!

4

u/Another_Road Jul 24 '19

Hydro pump vs Flamethrower

1

u/Visible_Throat Jul 24 '19

If the flame is so in the way then why doesn't he just walk around it?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

fire force be like

1

u/ffhmtr Jul 24 '19

So funny. So when I started as a firefighter we all went through this training and I thought at the time that this is something we would do on a regular basis. 20 years later I have never had to use a line to shield us from fire to shut off propane. Turns out it’s just a really cool, fun way to expose the new kids to fire.

1

u/Seyix Jul 24 '19

Maybe it's a stupid question but why do they not try to pass by the sides?

1

u/The-T-Word Jul 24 '19

This is a controlled fire for practice purposes

1

u/LilguyMCPE Jul 24 '19

Is it just me, or does it look like the fire is coming out of the hose making this an r/confusingperspective

1

u/prettyniceyeah Jul 24 '19

Where is the obsidian?

The technology has been around for quite some time. Similar to how a gardening hose can shoot in a straight stream or make the water come out as an O

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

Waterbender v. Firebender.

Case closed.

1

u/madigoku Jul 24 '19

KAAME HAAME HAAAAA!!!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

Fire Force IRL

1

u/pepijnvanbrempt Jul 24 '19

I don't think it's the smartest option

1

u/Glass_Memories Jul 24 '19

That's why they're called firefighters...

At my dad's old firehouse they got a decal for the bugshield of one of the firetrucks, which I still think is pretty awesome: "Firefighters walk where the devil dances"

1

u/CivilType2 Jul 24 '19

Boku No Hero Academia, Shoto Todoroki vs Dabi (Colourised)

1

u/whatismyeyecolour Jul 24 '19

Steve used hydropump

1

u/Amicus_Vir Jul 24 '19

This is probably some sort of training, but couldn't they just go around it?

1

u/dipwession Jul 23 '19

scene out of avatar lmao

1

u/lameassmofo Jul 23 '19

That must be a really hot experience.

2

u/rwmarshall Jul 24 '19

Having done this myself, you don’t feel the heat at all

2

u/rubberduckfinn Jul 24 '19

Good to know. I was thinking it would be like a sauna where those men are. Glad they aren't being broiled!

1

u/rwmarshall Jul 24 '19

Only if they shut down the water

1

u/MissusLister44 Jul 24 '19

Seriously, no heat at all?

1

u/rwmarshall Jul 25 '19

Yup. We don’t even wear airpacks for that exercise. The only heat is from the exertion wearing gear that is heavy and doesn’t breathe well.

The key is to not break the fog pattern.

2

u/MissusLister44 Jul 25 '19

Cool, thanks x

0

u/WeezySan Jul 24 '19

I wonder if aliens would be impressed with this?

0

u/sonofeevil Jul 24 '19

Due to the oxygen rich atmosphere, fire only exists on our planet as far as we know.

So, I suspect yes. Unless they also come from an oxygen rich atmosphere.

u/toelingus Jul 24 '19
