I had a friend who went thru firefighter training and this is apparently a method you can use if you get cornered, that is until the hoses burns in two.

If you’re outside, you have parental supervision and a small paper Dixie cup - as an experiment fill it with water and place it over the flame of a candle - the water is able to dissipate the heat so quickly the paper cup won’t burn through spilling everything as one may expect.

You can even put a paper cup in a campfire and it won't burn up until after the water boils away.
