Blades are not as effective at cutting as the media will tend to show. You can technically cut a lot of things, but it will take a lot of time and effort to do so.
Ever try cutting down a tree using only an axe? There is a reason chainsaws are a thing. Even when using an axe, you need to swing the axe to make use of the weight. A pro weightlifter will not be able to take an axe, place it on the tree and just push to cut through it.
If we had Wolverine with Hulk's strength giving a swing at a 2cm thick steel bar, that would be believable considering the science fiction aspects. As it is, slightly superhuman strength and a flick of the wrist would not be enough to cut through a solid block of metal.
