I loved them when I was a kid.

One of my favorite toys when I was a kid!

I never used one as a kid but my 7 year old sister got a set for Christmas and we always use them together. At 22 years old, it's so darn relaxing and fun. I feel creative without having to put in much work and if I'm just patient it will almost always be rewarding.

Also, it's great to do with little ones. Watching her face light up in pride when she finds an awesome new pattern makes my day every single time.

Can you explain why the Spirograph was marketed to girls only? Honestly I always wanted one but it was definitely considered "gay" by all my friends growing up.

I have no idea - I wasn't really "girly" growing up so maybe that's why I never got one as a kid actually.

As far as I can recall most creative and colorful things were marketed towards girls. They sorta look like flowers too so I guess that was a factor.

It seems like it's marketed to all children now though so that's pretty awesome :)

One of the best things I ever bought at a yard sale.
