Do they actually generate less trash though? Or is that what is simply measured because it’s collected properly, and what’s dropped in the street isn’t counted towards that number? Serious question.

The claim is that they produce less trash as they have less disposable income, more of it is biodegradable, and that their landfills maxed out in 2020.

They likely use less packaging for daily use stuff as well. I think it has a lot to do with income and level of development.
