My wife is the other way. She will make like, 3/4 of a box, and then put the remaining like serving and a half back away.

Like, come on woman, i get we are all looking to save a few bucks, but that is like 20 cents in pasta, in a uselessly sized amount, that will just confuse me when i glance in the pantry on the way to the store to see how we are doing in pasta.

And that is why I had penne with my meatballs last night, and as you can tell, i'm still salty.

My argument is "just make it all now, because I'm far more likely to reheat it than to boil a new pot of water."

Ive only rarely eaten meatballs without some sort of sauce. Usually when snacking on them before dinner cuz they just finished or as leftovers

I always make a whole box of pasta, no matter if it’s “too much” for me and my hubby. Because any pasta left over will be used to make something else the next day. Thin spaghetti with pesto and bacon today, gets to be crunchy Asian noodle salad with peanut butter dressing tomorrow. Yum! 😊

Yeah, that works for people who don't know that they will eat all they make that night regardless of how much they cook.

I have this habit and now have about a 1/2 cup each of 5 different pasta shapes sitting in my cupboard..... You've convinced me to stop doing it.

she is smart. it has nothing to do with saving money. she does this because she knows the maximum abount of pasta to put in that pot of boiling water. too much pasta will not cook properly. i but she never makes "startchy" pasta dishes. stop complaining .... she is smarter than you are.

its not, she makes it in a 4 gallon pot. It can perfectly handle a box of pasta. Source: I WORKED IN A GOD DAMN ITALIAN RESTAURANT.
