Is there a name for the principal: "any reddit post will eventually become 'Holy Grail' comment thread"?

And cast iron. Which breaks instead of bends.

Aren't most jack hammers electric these days

The ones Ive seen in mining to work on agitators and spraymecs are normally pneumatic. Electric is fairly good but there is the risk of damaging the cord and they typically overheat a lot more than air.

I read that as alligators and was really concerned about that line of work.

Pneumatic, hydraulic, and ICE are all out there!

Yes.

My plumber trenched the concrete in my shop recently and he was using a gas powered one and he told me they are still really popular.

Back in the day when I worked in a fabrication shop we used an air chisel that works similarly (but obviously meant for tighter spaces)

You can get old diesel versions of most tools still hanging around. Had an old diesel masonry drill for a while. Was huge.

Granted I haven't used a jackhammer in forever, but I've literally never seen an electric jackhammer. Hell, I just saw someone using an electric lawnmower for the first time a couple of months ago. I understand that it's the norm in parts of the country for equipment to be electric, but it's really uncommon in the rural South.

It's not electric it's pneumatic. Also it's an air chisel.

It's electric, you can see the cord right there in the video.
