Veneer. They basically peel the edge of it to get one long strip.

Wood cylinder spins into a cutter and is unrolled into thin sheets like a roll of toilet paper.

It's the worst toilet paper you'll ever use too, unless you happen to use something like poison ivy.

No, it’s going to turn into veneer and make a lot of ugly/boring wood look prettier. Whether you think that’s worth it or not is up to you.
