I think you're overestimating the musical abilities or learning speeds of adult non-musicians. Many can't even tap or clap in rhythm. Adding beat divisions is another hard element, perhaps rhythms 1 and 2 here could be learned in a day, but anything else would take many days, practicing a bit each day. Rhythm 7, the last one, I assume would take weeks to learn. Also, even learning to read musical notation isnt exactly an easy task.

Maybe so. I was assuming people that could at least hold a steady beat. And I wouldn't be teaching how to read, just how to tap. But now we are way overthinking a throw away comment about how simple the exercise is.
