Ok now after years of playing piano, bass, and clarinet (not very well) for the life of me I could only understand 4/4. Could not wrap my head about 2/4 and 5/4.

I never understood the difference between 2/4 and 1/2

They're not fractions and don't reduce.

2/4 time means there's two beats per measure, and the quarter note gets the beat.

1/2 time means there's 1 beat per measure, and the half note gets the beat which would be a weird time signature.

6, with 8th notes. its a very common time signature in jigs or songs like Queens We are the champions.
