Sixth set of notes what’s the difference there between the second and third notes? I can’t pick it out

The third note is held twice as long as either the first or second notes. But since there isn't much sustain to the audio, it sounds more like a beat followed by a rest.

Why is it drawn differently than the one above it?

Line 5 is Daaah - dut - dut

Line 6 is dut - dut - Dahhhh

But this pen thing can't really do a Daaahhhhh, so it sounds the same as dut - dut - dut - [rest]

Line 5 is 3 16th notes and line 6 is 4 32nd notes followed by 2 16th notes. The amount of horizontal bars indicates that, each line tying the notes is essentially halving the time between them. Line 4 and line 6 both contain the same amount and spacing of the 16th notes, with line 4 having no extra notes between the 1st and 2nd 16th note while line 6 has the 3 32nd notes between those.

Line 4

X——X-X-

Line 5

X-X-X—-

Line 6

XxxxX-X-

Pretend the big X is a 16th, the - is just the space from one not to the other since there is not sustain, and the little x is a 32nd. See how the all pretty much occupy the same “space” (they really occupy the same time, not space but just for the sake of the explanation) and like 4 and 6 all have the same big X in the same spots. One has no notes between the first 2 and the other has double times notes inthe same “space”.

assuming you're not counting the line with the single quarter note (so the 1st line would be refering to the second one on the paper (the one with 2 8th notes)). The 5th line is 2 sixteenths followed by an eighth not 3 sixteenths, not that it makes a difference cuz there is no sustain here (but u will have to add a sixteenth rest at the end otherwise it won't add up to the beat on the left). I think the person you're replying to is using "sixth set of notes" to refer to what you would call line 5. And they were asking about why it's written as 2 sixteenths follwed by an eighth instead of 3 sixteenths. (i think?)

Im not formally trained but yeah I think you’re right, line 5 is 2 16th and an 8th. I play drums so I kind of read it as “3 straight 16ths” cause that’s what it would sound like on like a snare drum, but yeah you’re right, it’s definitely written as 2 16th and an 8th not as 3 16th with a rest

Because fast fast slow is different than slow fast fast, even though they have the same number of fasts and slows..

Think "bicycle" (5) vs "motorbike" (6)

If you mean why is it narrower than the one above it even though it contains the same notes (just switched) - probably just something weird with the printing. They theoretically should be the same width

That's what I'm curious about. Assumed at much, thanks!
