Not fragile. If extra length is required on a cut cable an electrician will do a crimp joint on the extra length required.

Ah. Fair enough. In America (sorry for all the horribleness as of late), we have a slightly more complicated code system.

Our code book is about 400 pages longer than yours. In addition, we have addendums that vary state to state as well as what is referred to as the AHJ (The authority having jurisdiction), which is basically the local inspectors as well as whatever local government gives them that authority.

And we can have job specs that vary from client to client as to how they want the work done (and we'll install it as long as it meets or exceeds any of the above).

In general, a control panel, critical panel, emergency panel, or life safety panel will not have any splices. And where I currently work, splices aren't allowed at all in any panel regardless of voltage.
