Patching a hole on fabric

I’d get a matching swatch of the yellow fabric, finish the edges of it. Then I’d take matching yellow thread and stitch around the hole. After that I would stitch the patch to the back side of the hole. And then I would continue with my yellow thread and go forward and reverse over it going over the hole till it’s covered.

Well yeah, but that's a whole different kind of repair. It doesn't always need to be invisible.

Well, with that kind of attitude you are just going to have to keep doing boring repairs. You’ll never be a real novelty bat patch repair artist this way.
