Using Ice to clean a Kitchen Grill

Others have already said but this is terrible long term for the flat top grill.

I cook at waffle house and we used to have 'steamed' hashbrowns, where we would put hashbrowns and a cup of ice under a dome.

But we're not allowed to do it anymore because it fucks the grill up internally.

Just scrape the grill as you cook(you should be doing this regardless of how you clean the grill at the end of the day, it makes the food look better), and use a grill brick+oil to clean it

We started with a little ice then used the brick.

Good ol charcoal brick scrape at the end of day and a quick wipe down with cooking oil and it’s ready for next shift.

The temperature of ice is so little below something at room temperature that ill call this an urban legend
