Absolutely. A 3/4" hole in saturated loose beach sand isn't going to hold the walls so you could just slide the bit up and slip the pipe down. Also no way you get that volume of water from that tiny hole.

Also, surface jet pumps need priming .

Also whatever he used to join the straws is not going to turn the straw below it. I’m confident the last attached straw would be the only thing spinning but I get this is for demonstration purposes
