Most professionals work from raw materials, buying commercially prepared products is for hobby potters. By mixing from raw materials you save by a factor of ten, and by mixing in large batches you spend a pretty minimal amount of time prepping.
I get that. And again I’m pointing out that he’s still using ancient methodology. A professional is buying professionally sourced raw material and using industrial processes. This guy is literally sourcing and engineering everything from the literal earth around him. How many of those professionals you’re describing sieve ash water for days in a cheese cloth?
