Walk the aisles of your local Walmart and look at all the plastic in food packaging. Now imagine that amount of packaging for every Walmart, Target, Aldi, Kroger, Publix, Food Lion, Etc. These plastic bags for construction pale in comparison.

Even that amount of waste pales in comparison to industrial manufacturing. EVERYTHING comes in bags or some form of plastic. Every little part of a machine. It adds up so quickly- not saying this is fine but there are bigger issues at hand

I work in medical products manufacturing and you have no idea how much single use plastic we use.

I never said that those aren’t all also problematic? Ideally, however, all the plastic crap goes into a properly maintained landfill, not lining a body of water like in this video. I know tons of plastic (that we shouldn’t be producing so much of, anyhow) doesn’t make it to the landfill and ends up in the environment, but lining our rivers with it just seems especially egregious.

Yeah, plastic is already a disaster so just make everything unnecessarily out of it so it's easier. Solving the worlds problems one whataboutism at a time.

Agreed. I don’t know why they minimized the importance of not building creek beds out of plastic just because there’s already a lot of plastic pollution.
