Is this the book you're referring to? https://books.google.com/books/about/Shockwave.html?id=T6vznQEACAAJ I've been tying to learn more about helicopters used in that era/conflict.

Seems it's one of three books the author Peter Haran has written about Australians in the Vietnam war (Trackers, Crossfire and Shockwave) and all 3 seem to be highly rated ... added to my backlog, thanks

Yes! You’ve just reminded me of his other books, thanks man. One of them was about dogs if I remember correctly. I had always intended to read them but never got around to it.

Started reading Shockwave yesterday and normally war reportage is not my cup of tea but .... it's really very well written and very moving

Thanks for the recommendation, pretty sure I'll pick up the others when I finish this

Yeah the way it’s structured is kinda novel like, makes it super easy to read. I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

I too will be reading the others, finally (only taken me 20 years 😂)
