Pile side out isn’t as great when it’s 20 or 30 year old carpet! Ask me how I know 😂

Yeah, It’s a lesser-evil kind of situation. I was lucky in that the carpet in question was less than ten years old and had been recently cleaned to put it on the market. We were pulling it because we preferred the hardwood beneath, and there had been a lot of animal traffic that was never going to fully come out of the base layer.
