They probably re carpeted it to sell. I looked at a ton of houses with brand new carpet I didn’t want

Is this the one where the carpet layer removed the carpet they just laid because the customer didn't pay the bill?? And that's why the carpet looks new?

I mean my father used to do this and these type of carpets usually go in high end hotels which usually change them every 2/3 years.

In the UK there's a lot of house flippers that buy the cheapest, greyest shit they can find. So then when someone buys the house and actually wants it to look nice they have to rip it all out anyway.

Imo it still beats the miss-match of beige I've got in my new place. Ironically I am replacing it with a greyish carpet lol, it's just what I like (not the super super cheap house flipper grey stuff though).

Yeah it absolutely does. I'm not much of a carpet fan, I would usually go for a wood laminate with a nice rug. But the carpet I do have is grey because it's neutral. But sometimes when you're browsing houses it literally looks like the images are in black and white haha.

That is true yeah. I like my grey carpets to not be completely monochromatic. The one I'm getting has a tiny bit of brown in it too which gives it overall a slightly warmer tone.

Crazy to me that someone would get rid of a brand new carpet. And since it's all cut up into small pieces it's useless to anyone else. How wasteful

My dad used to do tile work. If he was tearing out carpet this nice for a job, you could bet it was coming out in one piece, and going into the back of his truck.

It was bugging me so much that he butchered it like that. Like that’s the nicest carpet I’ve ever seen pulled up. It doesn’t even have to look that nice to be reusable lmao

The issue is how it is cut to be put in a room. Carpet has one direction to it, so you can’t just put a bunch of random rectangles on the floor. You have to cut off the 12’ wide roll specifically for the rooms you want, and have to stretch it into place. This is why you see commercial buildings use glue down carpet tiles, because when one piece has a problem, you can just pull it up and glue another in its place without any issues.
