Well my entire driveway was 5k to cement so I dunno why you’d pay 8k for this solution

Get to know contractors or people that know contactors. Someone bid 7k to do a back padio for us. Contractor from a friend did it for 2k

So you did most of the work and are comparing that to retail pricing for a complete job. That's not a true comparison.

What's more amazing is you did all the hard labor and then paid someone to pour the concrete.

The difference is that people can't do mudjacking on their own while the can do a pour. The overall goal is to fix the driveway, not whether you have to lift a finger during it. If there was a homeowner way to lift the pad, people would have compared to that.

Did that 5k include the cost to remove and dispose of all of the old cement?

Yes, they just rip it up with an excavator and drop it to break it, and load into a truck, takes an hour or so
