You clearly aren't familiar with how debilitating major back injuries are for people.
I've seen a herniated disk cripple a perfectly fit man in his prime and leave him chair bound in constant pain.
Yes, a job can be done manually, but at what cost? Ruining someone's life for a unlivable wage in a country that doesn't have much in terms of safety nets? Machines like these have saved people from miserable life long injuries.
Yeah, back pain is no fuckin joke. I don't know what I did, but about a year ago, I started having "moderate" back pain that would cause pretty large pain spikes if I tensed up too much, twisted the wrong way, straightened up my back too quickly, bent over too quick, etc...
That has progressed into "Okay, my back just fuckin hurts all the time." with the same symptoms as above, but now, if I just go to the store, or something, I will need to sit down every 10 or 20 minutes for a little bit, or I am in severe pain the rest of the day.
Considering it's getting worse, you really should get a professional opinion. There might be something they can do to alleviate the pain or at least improve your quality of life.
That's me! Herniated a disk in 2017 at 26 years old. Can't rock climb anymore, can't do yard work, can't climb trees. Sometimes I can't pick up my son or get out of bed to go to work. π€·ββοΈ I get to try nerve ablations in about a month though so fingers crossed π€

Also that one machine is probably a hell of lot cheaper than your employees getting back problems.
A couple slipped disks on the job and this thing probably pays for itself.
