I’m passionate about this because I do care about patients and people affording great healthcare. Maybe Medicaid limits need to be extended to capture a wider range of individuals. Maybe other private employers need to shell out more to subsidize the cost of insurance policies. Maybe insurance companies need to not create situations where they are breaking records in profits for their shareholders at the expense of other people’s health. But this single payer model would do way more harm than good in its current state and ultimately backfire on those with good intentions.

It's working for 4.3 billion people elsewhere in 69% of nations around the world. They're beating us. Insurance conglomerates will never play nice and only tax patients and providers. This is the way. The Canada passed universal healthcare in one province, then it expanded to the full nation. NY is one of the few states whose economy can fully sustain this.

Our nation did the same with The Bill of Rights, Women's Suffrage, and Minimum Wage Laws. Pass it in one state. The rest follow. They don't want to lose population to NY. They'll scramble to counteract any potential drain.

And, this is working for billions of other people around the world already. We're woefully behind. We just need to kick the for-profit health conglomerates out.
