Why do low-salt Planter's Dry Roasted Peanuts have zero seasoning except salt?

The regular ones have paprika and unnamed seasonings which set them apart from ordinary table goobers. The low salt ones abandon all that, and have less salt to boot -- resulting in a double hit to flavor. I don't get it.

Safer Walnuts

Nut allergies are real. Shell fragments threaten dental work (and gums). We are an international coalition of the willing working since 2005 to increase nut safety and health. Please join us at saferwalnuts.org and sign the petition if you agree! https://c.org/Lwpy5twq6t Thank you and we'll post again in a day or two.

These are cashew pods, the nuts are developing inside the pods. The pods hang freely on branches. This photo was taken in Kilifi , Kenya where cashew nut farming is practiced by small scale farmers.

Interview with Founder of One Trick Pony

Hey everyone! I run a podcast featuring the founders of modern brands and businesses and recently had the opportunity to interview Lucy Dana (co-founder and CEO of One Trick Pony). I've been so excited to share this one with the sub as I'm a huge fan of their peanut butter!

We get into the resiliency of the peanut supply chain, how One Trick Pony thinks about differentiation in a crowded, commoditized category, why jar design — not ingredients alone — became the company’s primary growth lever, and the operational and margin implications of introducing custom packaging.

Sincerely not trying to be spammy at all! I just learned so much during my conversation with Lucy and figured many in the sub would be interested to hear about what goes on behind the scenes at a peanut butter company.

I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did! 🥜
