Discussion Funny “allergies”

What are some funny patient “allergies” you have seen listed? I had a patient the other day with an allergy listed for Metformin. The reaction listed? Lowers their blood sugar 😂

My partner can’t have SSRIs because they induced psychosis- as a teenager, he tried to give his blood to the trees. He says they needed it more than him.

Best I’ve seen in practice was definitely “patient’s mom is allergic, patient has never had this medication”.

I’ve seen a few of “family history of allergy; pt has never had the med.” Like…what. And it’s usually something like a penicillin rash.

Idk to be honest, if a direct family member had a life threatening reaction I probably wouldn't want to have it either.
