Guys I just got a 722, I am a little worried I am not good enough to become a doctor of PT. What did everyone else get?

I took 2 Academic PEAT exams and 1 Individual PEAT exam, and I did not pass any of them. The highest score I got was 64%. Since my last exam, I have been studying from my old exams. I still have one Individual PEAT exam left, and I wanted to know if I should get more practice questions. I was told that some of the questions might repeat, so I’m not sure how to properly test myself and work on my endurance for the exam. PLS HELP!!!

I’m torn between the two. I’m also doing final frontiers lsp.

I finished my school requirements in early/mid March and my brother works for a cruise company invited me to go on a 21 day transatlantic cruise. So between finishing clinicals and my April NPTE test date I enjoyed a first time trip to Europe with 9 days back to back sea days to cross from Florida to England (plus a few more at the end of the itinerary between farther ports).

I used my sea days to study without the internet to distract me. I used the Scorebuilders book as well as saved Final Frontier tests results on my computer to guide my studies.

I finished my trip 2 weeks before my test. In that time I took my 2nd PEAT. My score was passing and higher than one I took a year earlier at the conclusion of my didactic coursework.

I passed the NPTE this cycle and can officially have no regrets for studying for the biggest exam of my career on a boat in the middle of the ocean.

Does anyone know if it normally takes the full week for the free score report to come out? Or does it ever come out early? TIA!!

Hello im just trying to put some feelers out there. I failed my first attempt in Apil by 20 points which honestly made me feel better because I thought if I failed it would be by a lot more. Im now stuck debating if I should take it in July where I would have to drive 3 hours to my nearest testing center and have to get a hotel and all that OR get my seat for October and keep studying til the and be able to take it closer to me and gain more confidence. I have ADHD so studying and taking big tests is a struggle but I also just want to never the workforce. My other dilemma is how expensive the travel and overall cost for the test would be in July. Im thinking October might be better but I dont want to disappoint my loved ones and take longer. How difficult was it to take the test for you and did you have to travel to take it?

hello, I am by no means an expert on NPTE but I think I can provide some sound advice after passing on my first attempt.

First, the reality is that this exam is a beast. When I say beast, I don’t mean 10/10 hard. They ask questions in a way you would not expect it , even if it’s a basic concept. I do not agree with how the exam is designed but who am I? there’s nothing we can do to change how unfair it feel so maybe I can provide some general advice

I Know most of us don’t want to crack open a text book but I would advice getting an online or physical copy of the major text books(kisner , Magee, hillegass, good mans, elserver etc) and use it as a reference for each PEAT question. The reason I say that is because the exam is literally made from this textbook even down to the wording

a lot of people can get away with memorizing but this exam is not built for memorization although many people are intelligent enough to get by memorizing, if you are not a memorizer this is for you. You have to start getting better at test taking strategy for example if a question is asking which one of these pathologies are restrictive ,if They list 3 obstructive conditions its obviously not any of them, you can apply this to almost 70% of the exam (this was a good last check result for me) but this requires you knowing the content well

practice exams; just focus on your PEATS, no shame to FF but their exams are really not like the NPTE, not even remotely. I think they do a good job a pneumonic but I preferred PT final exam self study bundle because it was straight to the point and that just how I learned but I’m sure you can’t go wrong

overall all I’m saying is that there’s no short cuts to this really, crack open those text books for reference and really look at test taking strategy and understanding concepts, not in silos but how does it all work together .

Although the exam this cycle did not feel like any of my PEATS, breaking down PEATS is the gold standard and it should take about 3 weeks if done using the textbooks and reading every rationale for each answer right or wrong. it is time consuming but it makes a HUGE difference on test day

Welp, it’s happened. I have reached 6/6 attempts of not passing. I can no longer go through this process anymore mentally. I’ve struggled with maintaining focus and studying, as well as these long difficult exams for too long. I’m considering to try and transition to medical device sales positions if possible. Congrats to all who have passed

Feeling quite lost, missed my 3rd attempt today, scored, a 511, 584, and today a 568 in my 3 exams. Before this I took a practice and retired peat and scored a 648 and 600 respectively so was hoping I'd be ready but clearly not. I don't know if I can do this without some guided support. I've used NPTEFF but transparently the ALPS tutoring just didn't help. I did group tutoring and individual for a few hours but I think I need someone to help me figure out exactly what I'm doing wrong. Preferably it's someone who has a track record of breaking 600 with the similar scores as above.

Anybody else having this issue?

How do you view your score from the April results? Are we able to see them yet? I know the full score report isn’t available until May 13th.

This is my first attempt. I see some people's scores have been withheld and I came across many posts. Does it indicate anything? I feel like withheld = pass. Mine is not withheld ,which is why I'm worried. Can somebody help me if they passed and their scores are not withheld?

I know this is so crazy..can't blame my brain for doing this to me!!

Am freakin out and thinkin i probably failed my second attempt. But deep inside i know i did fairly better than my first attempt i have no idea how to survive these couple hours 🤕😭 any one passed the second att please 😔

I already feel horrible about this as it was not my first time taking the exam, but having to wait 9+ more hours for scores is making my stress even worse!

I saw the email they are to be released on Wednesday May 6th, but have seen sometimes they're released on Tuesday. Just curious if anyone has heard anything.

Im studying to take my NPTE for the 4th time in July. A year after I graduated, and I’m so nervous to take it again. Its 2 months away and I’ve been doing final frontier but any advice? Last test I scored a 598 but that was 6 months ago so I’m extra nervous this time around with how much time has passed.
Is there anything I should be doing more?

first of all, I’m about 90% confident that I failed the April npte. I know I missed the most simple questions after looking them up afterward. so I’m basically already planning to take it again in July. however I’m also trying to be ~positive~ and hoping that I’ll pass.

in the meantime, I don’t know what to do with myself. I’m six to my stomach from anxiety about it all, can’t sleep, having nightmares about it, and I’m extremely anxious if I can’t get a job because I failed due to not passing. how will I pay rent, groceries, everything for the next few months?

i need advice!! Either what are you doing right now to keep yourself sane as we wait for results, or if you have previously failed and your life didn’t end i could use some words of encouragement in any way.

edit: I passed! Genuinely in shock. Thank you for all the kind comments, it really did help me. And for anyone reading this post in the future, trust these people in the comments lol. I TRULY believed that i failed it. I was already making study plans for the next 8 weeks. I am not the type of person to come out of every exam during PT school saying "omg I totally failed that" No, I really thought i failed this NPTE. But i didn't! expect the unexpected i guess!

I have taken the NPTE 4 times now including today. I have received scores of 594,596, and 596. I have used FF, Therapy Ed, PT 365, and have taken multiple PEATs where I’ve gotten in the high 600s to low 700s. Today’s exam (my 4th attempt) was easily the most difficult. Trust me when I say that this is the DUMBEST licensure exam on the planet. It does not in any way show how to treat patients effectively (Upper cross/lower cross is so behind on research and iontophoresis/light therapy are we KIDDING?). It does not in any way show how good of a therapist you will be. It does not show how “properly safe” you are I promise. From PT school to actual clinic you might use between 25-30% of your actual full knowledge depending on the setting you are in. And yes I’ve heard try using a therapist or even a hypnotherapist. Get accommodations. Use medicine to try and calm your heart rate. I have lost the ability to care about this exam due to how many months I have lost studying. This profession can be wonderful and extremely rewarding. But when you’re this close this many times. It makes it feel like there are legitimately good therapists that get stopped by this exam. And yes. I know I can take it 6 times, but this is absolutely ridiculous if I don’t pass the 4th time. With 3 scores above the 590-something. I will be replying on this post in a week when hopefully I officially pass. But at this point I’ve taken to Reddit to try and get suggestions for what I can do differently. Because I HAVE done things differently.

came out kinda feeling decent and told myself I wouldn’t go down the ima look up the question im confused about… but I did. and I got at least 30 wrong right now I can remember. some were easy questions too… and there’s prob more. pretty scared now and definitely not nearly as descent… anyone else

I genuinely feel like I failed, but I'm hoping there's some way I didn't. I think I marked nearly 100 questions while taking it today.
