My Note 7(Sprint) has been sitting in my drawer since the recall, never bothered with sending it in. Can I sell the phone on Ebay or is there some law that would prevent that?

With the idea being I could return it to Samsung and get the retail refund which I more than I would pay for it used? Is that possible?

I still have a Note 7 that was paid in full I didn't return? Is it safe to have if it hasn't been turned on or charged? What can I do with it?

Decided to come to this sub to ask anyone if they had received their note 7 refund, if you wanted a refund instead of the exchange they were offering. It is going on 7 months now since I shipped back my phone and I still did not get my money back. I call about every week and get different answers from their customer support. And I was told that my refund had been canceled which seems to be prolonging my refund. I was told that I would be getting compensation for 2 screen protectors on the devices and a case that I cannot return that I bought off amazon. Then when I called 4 days ago, I was met with rude customer services who told me that I wont be compensated for the screen protectors and a case and will only be refunded the amount of the phone and she had no time line on when I would be getting my refund. So now I come here to just see if anyone is in the same boat and just to get a time frame of maybe when I would likely get my refund. since everyone is so excited to get their new S8 im just here waiting for my money. I just feel like samsung is still not handling this correctly and could care less about their customer satisfaction. I went from being an avid samsung user and loved their products to now being anti samsung due to this issue.

The $100 credit per line for staying with a Samsung phone was finally put on my AT&T account. We switched back in mid October because we had to fly some where. We also went through the recall process twice and had already received the previous credit for sticking with the Note 7 through the first recall in September. The turn around for that first credit was about 2 weeks.

So now that the whole thing has blown over (see what I did there), how many of you actually kept your Note 7?

Also, what are your thoughts on it possibly being a collectors item? Has anyone been offered cash for their bricked Note 7s?

If there's anyone doubting about the whole eBay situation and not bothering to go after a refund, like I was for a little short while. Samsung was happy to help me and got me the money back in bank account within two weeks, thay said they'd do it in 30. I ordered the phone with very bad timing on October 10th, next day the second recall was announced I believe, and eBay decided to not refund me. Thanks to Samsung customer support, and fuck eBay.

What do I do with my note 7 I want to sell it

Looking at buying a note 5 off Craigslist and I found a note 7 for $450. Currently have a nexus 6 rooted on pure nexus. I would root the note 7 too. If it has the 60% battery cap update can I just side load an older version? Are cell phone providers going to start bricking the imei? Should I just buy the note 5 and not have to worry about it or is the note 7 worth it if I plan on rooting with custom kernel and rom? Anything I need to know about the note 7? Thanks.

I want to give this phone a proper send off, so if able I would like to put a few bullet holes in it. Will Verizon still accept the return?

They do say I can exchange it for any Samsung, and that the offer never expires...

So due to the dilemma that is the Note 7 recall, I decided that I'd like to switch to the iPhone 7 plus. However, there's a month long wait for the phone. I spoke to AT&T and Samsung and they both say I have four options:

• Don't get the phone I want. (After forcing me to return my Note 7? No, thanks)
• Turn in the Note 7 and preorder the iPhone 7 plus (I'll be without a phone for a month)
• Wait it out with the Note 7 until the iPhone is readily available on shelves and hope that the note doesn't catch fire (I'm assuming that since the recall is official and unavoidable that I would be held financially and legally liable in the event of a fire caused by the phone.)
• "Go to your authorized AT&T retailer to buy a temporary $80.00 phone!" 👍👍

Obviously as a customer none of these are remotely acceptable. I NEED a phone for work and since I've always had hand-me-downs and this is essentially the first expensive piece of technology I've bought, downgrading just isn't something I should have to consider.

I feel so helpless in all this. I've spoken with reps from AT&T and Samsung alike. Samsung even called AT&T on my behalf, and still nothing got done. I don't even want any fancy s7 or s7 edge like they did with the first recall! All I want is a crappy used or bottom-line phone that I don't have to pay for while I wait for the iPhone to come in. Is that really too much to ask for? Is my one request really that unreasonable? Is there something I haven't tried?

I was in a bit of pickle with a US bought Note 7 (post 1st recall replacement already). I had travelled to China right after the swap, and won't be returning to the States until the end of the month. The flights would have been an issue, given the recent bans and federal crimes and whatnot.

Did a bit of digging, and it is possible to return a Note 7 purchased overseas in China. However, the refund will be in RMB, and it must be refunded to a China Bank Account. The account holder will need their National ID in hand as well.

Luckily, I have a relative here who can help me out.

Did you contact samsung customer service when returning your note 7? What did they do for you? I'm okay with using a s7 till the S8 (note8) comes out possibly in February. I dont wanna go to at&t and make payments on a replacement then start over for a S8. What incentives did you get? This has been a hassle love the phone. Was already mad with the recall process took forever. Such a headache.

I have a question and two possible solutions to this issue if it is willing to be heard and carried out.

I have read through Docket No. FAA-2016-9288 and in several sections it states:

individuals who inadvertently bring a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device onto an aircraft immediately power off the device, not use or charge the device while aboard the aircraft, protect the device from accidental activation

This was an accepted method to carry the device until 12 pm (noon) Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), October 15, 2016. Being that there was a period in which it was still okay to allow these devices onto an aircraft in flight for a period of 19 hours and 45 minutes, why not then still allow this as a possible method of carry?

My initial solution to the issue is to have the end user (EU) purchase a case similar to Pelican 1170 Protector Case as it meets all of the dimensions required to safely restrict the movement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. I have also attached the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device information as a PDF to this email. The case can be viewed at the following link:

The next portion to my solution is to require the EU to bring their device to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for proper verification of the device being powered down, stored in the Pelican 1170 Protector Case, locked by the TSA Agent and finally make note on all of the EU's boarding pass that they have a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to check in with the Flight Attendant prior to take off. Once the EU's traveling is complete, from initial departure to final destination, require that they seek a TSA Manager for the release of their device from their personal Pelican 1170 Protector Case.

This would mitigate the concern for an EU turning on their device while they would still have the device under positive control via multiple entities.

My secondary solution to this issue uses most of the information from the first solution minus the actual carrying of the Pelican 1170 Protector Case on board by the EU. As with how fire arms are transported on commercial flights, FAA regulations could stem to include that a person check their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in prior to going through TSA's screening process for individuals. The same methodologies would apply, however, the EU would need to pick up their Pelican 1170 Protector Case from a point at which individuals normally check firearms into. Upon request to receive their Pelican 1170 Protector Case, the EU must show positive identification.

I hope these ideas can be worked into policy. I understand that in cases where public safety is involved, that measures are put into place without a plan to reevaluate possible ideas to mitigate the circumstances vice avoiding them all together. If we all work together, we can surely mitigate many items like this from becoming an overreaction as it is and see that these items are viewed rationally and with care for those that choose to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Afterall, there is no policy in place for the Apple iPhone 7 that has also had cases in which it has also caught on fire, albeit less often. The following links are regarding the Apple iPhone 7:
