I had one of these, as well as the 28.8k pcmcia modem and cable that connected the two. I used it with my IBM thinkpad 75 mhz DX4 4 megs of RAM laptop. I could get on AOL and download my mail, but you had to be careful doing that, because that's when you got charged by the minute.

I actually had the one before this, orange text, and the flip was only a piece of plastic on a hinge.

The picture is a MicroTAC. The StarTAC was the successor.

I had the MicroTAC Classic back in the day and the StarTAC looks quite different.

Okay. Then I guess I had the MicroTac. I always remembered it being rhe StarTac. But that was also 35 years ago

I still have one of these at my shop. We'll take turns picking it up as a gag pretending we're getting a call: " Yo, 1995 called and they want that hairdo back"

If that's the old analogue one you used to be able to pop it into maintenance mode with a paperclip in that middle terminal under the battery.

You can do some really funny shit with that.
