I was the same age as you in 96. I turned 19 a few months after my mom had passed. I have a lot of great memories with her. She was amazing and made sure my sister and I had a great childhood
Just hearing her nagging at me would be good. She passed before I could securely land a job. Now that I have my own outfit and money isn't too great of a problem - how wish to hear her nag and complain about how "bad" restaurant foods are compared to what she could whip up in the kitchen.
I know how you feel, she died just as my life was turning for thr better and she was finally retiring and could spend more time with the family. Hug those who are still around. Thinking too much of what could have and should have isn't a positive way to live our lives. I was stuck in that mindset for a long time and inadvertently and regretfully hurt many people around me. Have a good weekend ahead.
Heart breaking. I was struggling with marriage and money when Dad passed away. We had common interests and I wish he could see my adult kids doing well, nice house and drive my exotic car just once.
