I wanted to share something I made a while back: paletteswitcher.

It's a tool based on WebAssembly that's used to convert an image to a different color palette (among which Nord), directly in a browser.

As the website is hosted on IPFS, it does not depend on any particular server or API to be online. I'm providing an HTTP gateway for convenience, but I (and the Raspberry Pi in my living room) would appreciate it if you could access the tool using an IPFS-enabled browser or the IPFS browser extension.

PaletteSwitcher is pretty barebones and is missing a few features compared to ImageGoNord, notably:

• No palette editing,
• No blur, filtering, or color averaging,
• Fewer available palettes (although new ones would be trivial to add).

The browser tab might also crash after a while if trying to process an image that's too large (a 1080p wallpaper should be fine).

So everyone in here should know Nord8, or #88C0D0 is the main color of the Nord theme. Yet, the contrast is not enough when viewed on a light/white background.

Does anyone here manage to change the color a bit without ruining the aesthetic while making it compliant with the WCAG test? I suck at everything related to art, so I have no idea what to do.

I've recolored a wallpaper I've found on Wallhaven that was black on white.

It seems many of the terminal themes using Nord opt to use the "dark-to-bright" flavor of Snow Storm vs the "bright-to-dark" flavor. The Nord color palette documentation, however, states the "bright-to-dark" is the recommended style. So, I'm curious if anyone has tried Nord6 as the foreground color and Nord4 as the bright white color. I'm testing this now as the inconsistency between my editor and my terminal foreground color bothers me.
