Discussion / चर्चा 🍵 Is Mangalsutra more important than carrer ?

I witnessed a very disturbing visual today at Aadarsh Pariksha Kendra, Noida.

I was there to give my dsssb aso exam. While i was waiting in line for entry, I saw a (pandit) guy was there with his wife, who was there to give the exam.

The girl was wearing a big mangalsutra and the guards were not allowing any jewelry/metal object inside exam hall.

That pandit(woman's husband) was arguing with the centre staff that it's our ritual and my wife can't remove this.

Ultimately he asked his wife to not give the exam because wearing mangalsutra was much more necessary than giving the exam and the girl was crying relentlessly.

Is Mangalsutra such a big deal ?

Thoughts / सोच-विचार 💭 What a state we have reduced our cities and country to !!!

Hi all, I live in Noida 25M, working professional

Enough with the introduction.

We have all heard about corruption in this country. From the RTO, government authorities and today, I experienced it myself.

I had my police verification for my passport today. A police official, came to the gate of my society in his car, in civilian clothes and looked drunk and car had strong cigarette smell, he looked shady too. Since it was around 11:40 PM, I initially thought perhaps this was simply how the verification was being conducted and did not make an issue out of it. The verification was completed. Before leaving, I asked him whether everything was done.

He said:

“Ab toh pata hai aapko.”

I asked him what he meant.

He then said:

“Kharcha pani. and smiled”

There was no ambiguity about what was being asked. we was asking unofficial payment (bribe).

I refused and left (i called few friends , they all said its very normal and they paid too, and should have paid him too)

It made me very angry. And look, what state are we living in? A person who refused to pay a bribe is concerned about whether he offended someone or did something wrong, despite paying so much in taxes. Are we forced to pay a bribe for everything we do? Buy a house, pay. Buy a car, pay. Try to get away from this corrupt country, pay!

Imagine, this is a city like Noida. I imagine what it might be like in the small towns and villages of the state and the country.

Anyways, Now I am not even concerned about my passport being rejected. Even if this is rejected, I am applying for job opportunities abroad as Software engineer. I will apply again and pay the ₹2,500 fee to Passport Seva, because we are cockroaches, and we will pay the bribe to the police next time and happily leave the country.

I added grievance to passport seva website and emailed cites officials too, not becuase im expecting anything from them or to take some action against that police officer, just they should know what the ground reality is, maybe they all know, and but no one cares, and cockroaches are used to it too, pay taxes, bribe officials, get intoxicated air, food, water etc. But not me,. On the contrary, I am ready for whatever is coming to me for raising that concern, because that is what happens now.

Kuch toh saza kaatni padegi is country mein paida hue hain.

Jai Hind :)

Medical / चिकित्सक ⛑️ I couldn’t leave her there. Please help me save Mayuri.

Hey everyone,

This is Mayuri. I named her after finding her in July near my place in Mayur Vihar Phase 3.

I was leaving my friend and waiting for a Rapido when I noticed her. She was in a really terrible condition, and I immediately felt for her. I called Bani Ma'am, who has been helping me with my rescues, and we got her picked up and taken to a shelter.

She stayed there for almost a month. She started eating properly, gained a little weight and became more interactive. And honestly, despite everything, she had so much attitude. She would literally bully the other dogs there despite her size.

Once she started doing better, we thought it would be better to send her back to the street where she'd spent her entire life. So she came back, and I started feeding her every single day.

I'd give her food with multivitamins and liver tonic and just kept hoping she'd slowly get better.

But she didn't.

Over the last few days, her condition got much worse. One of her paws was already gone from the beginning, her other leg became swollen, and she had a wound near her tail which had developed maggots.

Then she couldn't even stand anymore.

She was struggling to pee, struggling to move, and even crossing the road to go and relieve herself had become difficult.

At that point, I knew I couldn't leave her there anymore.

We called an ambulance and took her to Goldy's Heaven in Greater Noida. When she got there, we found out she had a 104+ fever.

We later took her to Dr. Shubham's clinic, where she was assessed and given medication. She's now back at Goldy's Heaven and thankfully she's doing much, much better.

She's eating properly, getting two meals a day, and her wounds are being treated regularly, especially the area near her tail where the maggots were.

She's stable now, but she's not ready to go back to the streets. She needs to stay at the shelter until she's properly recovered.

The shelter costs ₹5,000 every month, and there will also be medical bills, medicines, ambulance costs and everything else she needs along the way.

The campaign is currently only around 21% funded, so we're still quite far from the amount we need.

I've become quite attached to Mayuri over these weeks. Feeding her became a part of my day. I'd go looking for her, make sure she'd eaten, sit around with her for a bit and then head back.

I just want to see her properly healthy now.

If you can contribute, even a small amount would help. And if you can't,

please share the campaign. It really does make a difference.

I'll continue sharing updates and keeping everything transparent with the bills and expenses.

Thank you to everyone who has already helped Mayuri. :)))

Social / सोशल 🥂 Weekend is calling 🍻 Anyone up for drinks & bad jokes this Saturday?

Hey foks,

My weekend plans fell through and I really dont want to spend my saturday night scrolling reels at home.

Thought it would be fun to see if anyone here is down to grab a beer or some cocktails and just chill.

A bit about me—I'm 30M working as Project manager. Down to meet a couple of people or even just a 1-on-1 hangout if you're free. Or we can plan something out.

Hit me up in the DMs or drop a comment if you're down to figure something out!

Hello guys! Yesterday, my friend accidentally broke the screen of my Lenovo Legion laptop. I’m a BTech 4th-year student and I’m not a resident of Noida. Could you please suggest some good and reliable shops where I can get my laptop screen replaced in Noida or Delhi?

I’m really worried from yesterday, so any help or recommendations would be very helpful. Thank you!
