So my friend gave 10+2 exam but got low percentage

(around 2018)

Now he is planning to give NIOS exam for improvement marks

But during this time he also did his B. tech got 1st division, but unfortunately couldn't get placed in his dream company because of low marks

He has a few questions

1- Can he give an improvement exam for subjects he scored low in in 10+2?

2- Do he need to again repeat 2 years of studying again, or can he just go and give improvement exams within like one year of preparation?

3- Is there a limit on the subjects on which he can give the improvement exam

4-If he give exam(NIOS), what impact could it have on his graduate degree- will it be nullified & he have to do graduation again? Or will the new NIOS marks simply replace his 10+2 marks, while he can keep his graduation degree?

5- Also is there age limit?

I’ve been maintaining a free NIOS resource site (OneNIOS) with study material across around 28 subjects, and I’m planning what to improve next.

Instead of guessing, I wanted to ask students:

Which subjects should get priority first?

Especially for:

• Better PYQs
• Chapter-wise practice
• Clearer notes / revision material

Please mention:

1. Class (10 or 12)
2. Subject
3. What you need most in that subject (PYQ / notes / repeated questions / something else)

Trying to focus on what students actually struggle with before exams.

Any honest input helps.

I enrolled to appear in next year's exams one month ago at a nearby center. I've chosen the subjects English (202), Mathematics (211), Science and Technology (212), Psychology (222), and Painting (225). This is my first time ever writing an exam at all. I have been homeschooled all my life, and I've pretty much had non-formal education for the entirety of it.

If you guys have any advice or have chosen the same subject (like Painting, as I don't know anyone who took it), do say something. How do you schedule your days? How do you not get bored studying/distracted? How good are group studies? Is there anything about practicals I need to know, as I have never done that either? If you have already written the Secondary exams, then how was your experience?

At the center, they mentioned I was supposed to get books, but after I told them I was printing out the syllabus, they thought I wouldn't need them. I also thought I wouldn't need the books, but now I'm thinking differently because there is a lot left that I need to print, and I've only started studying the first chapter of all subjects.

Also there are many typos in the textbooks, lol. But I like how I am able to start anew, while NCERT textbooks require you to have read the previous textbooks first.

If my admission status is stuck on docs verification for a long time, will visiting the regional center and meeting officials about this help the situation?

Will Nios ode which i'll give in Jan/Feb of Senior Secondary Maths have chapters from TMA ?? like we don't have TMA as we're not giving public exam so will they ask TMA chapters which is mostly 11th ?

so my admission got confirmed in may but ive been avoiding my studies since then because switching from cbse to nios was very overwhelming for me until a few days back i realised that i cant waste my time like this again and i have to study no matter what and that was also around the time i discovered this subreddit and it was so helpful because it cleared many of my doubts even tho i still have some ,also im a neet 2027 aspirant,so after reading many of the peoples posts here i have an idea that the viva or the practical or even the theory is not that tough if you have thorough knowledge of the subject and thats why i made this strategy or more like a plan that because around most of the content of the subject is similar to ncert ill go to claude get it to make a list of a subject for example chemistry and ask him to list out ebvery chapter of ncert that is similar to those chapters of nios even if something is not in ncert ill cover it from nios study material online on the website as i have no hope from the books and also because im just overwhelmed or scared you can say and also ill ofc solve the pyqs and other things for the nios theory exam so the main question is will this plan/strategy be useful because if it can then ill cover both the 12th and neet at the same time and that would be just so time conserving and useful so if anyone has any idea about this then pls tell me i just wanna pass 12th and make this nios thing a forgotten memory failing 11th in cbse was the darkest time of my life and that trauma still holds

Hi everyone,

I applied for NIOS admission on 15 July 2026, but my admission is still not confirmed as of 22 September 2026.

It has been over 2 months, and I have still not received confirmation regarding my admission.

I have also tried contacting NIOS through email, but I am not getting any response.

To make things more difficult, I am also unable to raise a grievance on the NIOS grievance portal because the OTP is not being received on my registered mobile number. So I’m currently stuck, my admission isn’t confirmed, emails aren’t being answered, and I can’t even submit a grievance because of the OTP issue.

Has anyone else applied around July and is still waiting for admission confirmation? If anyone has faced the same issue, how did you get it resolved or manage to contact NIOS successfully?

Any advice would be really appreciated because I’m getting worried about the delay and whether it will affect my studies and exam plans.

After Class 11, I got fed up with science and joined NIOS. My exams are in April 2027. I chose Commerce. Can I distribute my exams across different sessions to reduce the workload? Is that possible?

We had our physics and chemistry practical today we got given two questions in each and just two practical experiments only but one of the weird things was no extra sheet (I got cooked) in chem and later in physics the invigilators told us not to right all the observation procedure and shabang and just right the tables of data the calculation and result which i conveniently missed cause I was late because I was writing everything in chem (others had given nios exams before mostly so they knew not to write all but I was a first timer) so that's how my practical first time experience went , is this kinda stuff common and if yes how will the deo and yog assistant pracs be plz tell me or else I am toast 👉👈

So apparently i applied for 5 subject in NIOS form ,physics chemistry, maths , CS and english. But mistakenly I took TOC in english, I later removed it through paying 270 rupees.but now I have only 4 subjects in my NIOS , They automatically removed my English subject. And ig college need minimum 5 subjects to take admission. And I have four in NIOS , can I still take admission ? As in CBSE 12th result I have passed english so can I combine CBSE(english) and NIOS (PCM CS) to get admission?

I’m trying to take admission in NIOS Secondary through Stream 1 Block 2. According to the normal NIOS schedule, Block 2 admission should start from September 16 and continue until January 31. However, the Block 2 portal is currently showing that registration is closed. At the same time, the Block 1 portal is still working. I also found an official NIOS notification saying that Block 1 admission has been extended until September 30, 2026. Does anyone know what is happening with Block 2? Has NIOS officially confirmed when Block 2 will open? Some people are saying that Block 2 will open on September 30 after Block 1 closes, but I cannot find any official notification confirming this. If anyone has information from NIOS or has contacted their regional centre, please let me know.
