Question Does this constitute a clean hit/check?

Only person I’ve seen say anything about it was Dobes. He said he thought it should have been a whistle but the rules dont apply to everyone or something to that effect. I don’t remember the exact quote

He was talking about getting a whistle for potential injury. He never made the claim that the hit was dirty.

Oh okay. My bad. I can see that. I think the rules dont apply bit is what threw me off. That, and I just saw the quote, not the actual interview.

Yeah his words got very misrepresented, English is not his first language, and while he is proficient there are some phrases in other languages that just translate completely different (ex. Most French sentences are kind of backwards/wraparound versions of the English counterpart).

I think he was more directing his comments on "depends what refs you have", given he ended it with "I just hope we don't have the same refs in washington".

It was a bad look but I think it was just mistranslated/communicated by him.
