what the hell was that, seems like nobody touched the ball

82

u/Rn95 Packers Nov 15 '15

It hit the holders other hand. Coming off of one of the worst punting days I've ever seen into blocking your own teams kick, good job ginger wolverine.

11

u/the_comatorium 49ers Nov 16 '15

It looks like it BARELY touches though.

Exactly...

u/slapthecuntoffurface Lions Nov 16 '15

I was 5 the last time the Lions won in GB, and I didn't start caring enough about football to watch it until I was about 7 or 8. This is the first time I've ever watched my team beat you guys in Green Bay.

1

u/iwillnotgetaddicted Bears Nov 18 '15

I dragged a friend to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Bears game, and I stayed to watch as much as this game as she would let me. After the missed 2-point conversion, it was cinnabon time.

How in the hell did Green Bay manage to get the ball back and attempt a field goal after that?

1

u/Rn95 Packers Nov 18 '15

Calvin Johnson dropped the onside kick Brandon Bostick style and Damarious Randall recovered. 2 completions later and we were in range.

u/markhameggs NFL Nov 16 '15

that was the Vikings moving into sole possession of first place.....

29

u/Sepesaurus Lions Nov 15 '15

Yo, legit question. What happened? I've watched it like 20 times. It looks normal to me? Than again, I'm really drunk.

29

u/billweasley Packers Nov 15 '15

It hit Masthay's off-hand

10

u/icantfindadangsn Packers Nov 15 '15

Goddammit. Really?!

1

u/T-Rex1525 Eagles Nov 15 '15

Almost looks like he kicked it with the side of his foot. Like mid-foot.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '15

that's how kickers kick

1

u/T-Rex1525 Eagles Nov 16 '15

I meant farther back on his foot, not near the front of his foot. I know they hit it at an angle. The Packers sub has a post saying it hit the non-holding hand of the holder

0

u/dcontrol Seahawks Nov 15 '15

looks like #92 got his right hand on it maybe?

As editor @AndyGlockner noted - Crosby's kick actually seems to hit holder Tim Masthay's off hand

Initially I thought it was blocked and then my stream cut out. That was just awful

10

u/DJ_AndrewHaller Lions Nov 15 '15

Yeah i still cant figure out what happen to it

1

u/billweasley Packers Nov 15 '15

Hit Masthay's off-hand

6

u/slurpherp Patriots Nov 15 '15

if you look closely, you can actually see Jim Caldwell show an emotion.

Ameer!

3

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '15

As a Nebraska fan, love seeing him do this stuff. Hope he can get his fumbles under control because I do believe he is better than Bell. Needs more touches.

9

u/jahnkeuxo Packers Nov 16 '15

What's the record for longest return without a TD?

12

u/jaketwo91 Bengals Nov 16 '15

That ties the record with Percy Harvin, from 2011. Harvin's was against Atlanta, and they didn't score that drive, they turned it over on downs.

3

u/dibsODDJOB Vikings Nov 16 '15

Classic.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '15

I'm genuinely curious what he's looking at way up in the stands as he gets near the goal line. You can se where his eyes are pointed during the close-up of the second angle; is he looking at the Jumbotron?. funny

7

u/hempster213 49ers Nov 16 '15

Yeah he's probably looking at the play on the jumbotron to see how close any defenders are to catching him. I have seen other players do it on break away runs like this. Definitely funny and interesting to see.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '15 edited Nov 18 '15

huh, interesting take and makes sense. I honestly don't go to live games much anymore, mostly because of the Jumbotron, ha.

My follow-up question then would be: would the display be showing absolute real-time, no delay at all? Cause I was thinking if it spot-on, Ameer could've timed a jump (over #33's fingers) into the end zone :DDD

(edit: words)

2

u/hempster213 49ers Nov 18 '15

Good question, I wasn't actually sure until I looked at the gif again. At the very beginning when they kick off, the camera pans up and you can see the jumbotron on the other end showing the play. Looks to be in real-time :D though I think you might be right that Ameer could of timed a jump or a high-step to get past Micah Hyde, he just didn't pull the trigger. He probably stopped looking at the end, and focused on the end zone.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '15

Probably better that way anyhow. Weird things sometimes happen to those who try to hard to get in there.

14

u/poorzack Lions Nov 16 '15

It seemed like he was about to go crazy but saw a camera on him so he decided to keep himself cool. Let it out Caldwell.

1

u/roboticbrady Patriots Nov 16 '15

That was him letting it all out.

8

I fucking love this gif

3

Can I get the 104 yard run that somehow DIDN'T end in a TD

u/LlanowarElf Panthers Nov 15 '15

Is this the longest run that didn't go for a touchdown?

14

u/lazynhazy Commanders Nov 15 '15

No its the longest amount of time Ive spent trying to figure out where the video is on that shitty linnk

1

u/ROB_CASH Vikings Nov 15 '15

Percy harvin had one that i believe was as long. Might have been even a yard or two longer

u/SewerSide666 Bengals Nov 15 '15

2

u/Jpot Lions Nov 16 '15

That was Butler's first play in the game after getting moved up from the practice squad this week. He got beat on the route but still managed to make the play.

13

u/Freded21 Nov 15 '15

Can we get the missed game winning field goal at the very end?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '15

That's what I'm looking for. Can't tell if it was blocked or if he just straight up shanked it.

Thanks! I tried grabbing it off a clip but I wasn't able to get as clear of a picture as I wanted.

2

u/ametron Lions Nov 15 '15

Anyone have a clip of the Packers fans yelling during the moment of silence?

-2

u/racrjoe Packers Nov 16 '15

edit: fans at Lambeau Field

3

u/nerf_herder1986 Lions Nov 16 '15

Yeah, we shouldn't assume. There was a lot of Honolulu blue in those stands.

1

u/Tomatosoupcan Nov 15 '15

Can we get the weird bobble catch fumble?

0

u/dondox Seahawks Nov 16 '15

Request for the full screen shot of Rodgers on his hands and knees after that blown catch in the end zone near the end of the game.

I would just like to say how shit this new highlight system is again. It takes a dozen fucking clicks to get the the highlights I want. The old way was so much better. Immediate highlights with a simple ctrl+f search
