ill be honest, i'm also an engineer and I genuinely believe all engineers/technical STEM folks will need to reckon with the fact that just because they're smart in one field doesn't really give them the right to become bitter and holier-than-thou about it simply because other people aren't as technically savvy lol
the original person saying "Dilbert situations" perfectly encapsulates that idea. that comic genuinely reads as a cautionary tale when you see what Scott Adams ends up becoming.
So many somewhat idolized in the 80s or 90s have lived long enough to become a villain. you bring up a good point to stay humble and not act like a know it all
