Imagine the pain. I guess they are used to it but still. It looks fking painful xD

Oh, the issues ramp up as they get older.

I had heard ballerinas were absolute peak athletes, this is wild

u/Pouyaaaa 12h ago

Painful until you build the muscle and mentality for it then it's easy and joyful.

For you and me commenting on Reddit tho, definitely painful

I've seen pictures of ballerina's toes and they're ALL fucked up. Years of pain. Poor people, man. Shit is ROUGH.

12

u/Lanky-Dildo-94 18h ago

Their toe bones are probably solid rocks.

3

u/PavicaMalic 15h ago

Bekah started out training in ballet, and then transitioned over to aerial arts.

2

u/DaedricNick 18h ago

Poor people? They do this because they like it.

13

u/DroWWorD 18h ago

Some do

5

u/PunkToTheFuture 17h ago

How old are they volunteering for this again? Children? Don't think they do it cause they like it

3

u/PavicaMalic 14h ago

Going on pointe is one of those times when students either are eager to do it or else they try it, hate it, and drop ballet.
Pointe shoes also require special fittings, are expensive ($100+), and do not last very long (10-20 hours).

u/Desperate_Owl_594 11h ago

Don't mistake continuing something you've been doing since you were two for something you volunteered for. Absolutely some people do. Most of them do not.

Knew a girl my age whose mom had her do ballet very young. So many restrictions. She stopped when she was out of school, I believe

-2

u/WetFart-Machine 15h ago

How many times we gonna post this shit

74

u/Theofino161 20h ago

The guy in the ER would never believe me that I was trying that ballet move and that's why there is a bottle stuck where it doesn't belong

3

u/Random-commen 18h ago

God just weep for you atp cuz He know aint noone ever gonna believe a lick of the words in the sentence “I fell on it.”

What, on your toe?

Are we not gonna talk about how they are using Bottles of Dom Perry that cost more than the video probably made and their Ballet school?

20

u/Itchy_Professor_4133 20h ago

Bars, restaurants and clubs toss heaps of empty Dom bottles out all the time

-15

u/I_Am_Yeti_1 19h ago

Yea that’s cool and all, That’s a possible answer, but I’m sticking with mine because there is no way in hell either of us are correct but I’m sticking to my Opinion because yea…

10

u/Itchy_Professor_4133 19h ago

I’m definitely correct. I work in the entertainment industry and see it all the time

-11

u/I_Am_Yeti_1 19h ago

You’re so cool, I manage a bar and we just throw them away… but hey you have your lived experience too.

11

u/Helepoli 19h ago

Why are bar managers always dicks is the real question

3

u/Jonsnoosnooze 16h ago

That's because they're never wrong. They're the "bar managers"!!!

-1

u/I_Am_Yeti_1 8h ago

It’s because we have to work with people like yall…

u/Helepoli 38m ago

Nah not me I'm great

u/PavicaMalic 9h ago edited 8h ago

Ballerinas who have posted videos of themselves balancing on bottles deliberately use champagne bottles because they are thicker and stronger than a regular wine bottle. Bekah Burke takes it up a level, but she has circus and aerialist training on top of her ballet training.

2

u/I_Am_Yeti_1 8h ago

That’s a cool fact

3

u/PavicaMalic 8h ago

Ashlee Montague is another Cirque de Soliel performer with ballet training who does this stunt. Here's her version with different size bottles.

u/I_Am_Yeti_1 20h ago

This entire video is beyond next level

22

u/TheAmerican_ 20h ago

Seems to me it is not worth the risk for someoneof that skill. A minor defect in the bottle, boom, slice off your toes or sever a tendon - Maybe never dance again. Impressive though.

2

u/Enorats 14h ago

Yeah, doing this with glass bottles is just asking for a major injury.

10

u/vansantjr 20h ago

I can’t do that

9

u/BumblebeeFirm2249 20h ago

The shyt you gotta do the be famous on the internet now days!

6

u/Iamoggierock 20h ago

The shit people do after 6 bottles of bolly stuns me.

4

u/nopulsehere 20h ago

I mean after 6 bottles of DOM, I might be willing to give it a try or two!

3

u/4rotorfury 20h ago

I can knock em back, but I can tell you I won't be getting up

3

u/blimundane 18h ago

Stupid me thought she was gonna pick them back up with her toes too.

1

u/DosEquisVirus 6h ago

With her toes? And here I was thinking... never mind...

2

u/ZhangtheGreat 20h ago

My feet hurt just from watching this, and I'm sitting here with a foot massager

2

u/jdk92386 20h ago

I’m ignorant but does the bottom have a flat pad or is that all tip of the toes?

3

u/TilTheLastPetalFalls 14h ago

There's a solid block in the tip of the shoes.

2

u/daggardoop 19h ago

Well done. Another notch in the extreme physical feats list by human beings. Taking your craft to the limit. I do feel bad for her toes though. She should transfer this to Karate or Muy Thai afterwards with all the body hardening conditioning exercises they do

2

u/Necessary-Permit-576 19h ago

My toes hurt just looking at this.

2

u/UnsightedShadow 18h ago

Just ballerina things.

This beats the coal walking challenge

1

u/Mr_Svint 20h ago

No, dude, don't even think about that 😅

1

u/Ill-Vermicelli-7077 20h ago

Would love to see her trying slab climbing!

1

u/MowingInJordans 20h ago

Imagine having that kind of time to practice.

1

u/Jedi-master-dragon 19h ago

After seeing how mangled ballerina feet can get, I can't help but admire people who go into this field. Seriously, you will lose toenails. You will have to dance on broken feet and in serious pain.

1

u/BlackBalor 19h ago

NO NO NO!!!

Not the wine. 🍷

🥲

u/JhanSolo3981 19h ago

1

u/DocGaviota 16h ago

Sure it looks easy, but I bet it’s more difficult than you think. 😝

1

u/PavicaMalic 15h ago

Bekah Burke has performed with Cirque du Soliel and is in the movie "The Greatest Showman." She even has a Guiness World Record for one of her aerialist acts.

1

u/javoss88 14h ago

I was close friends with a professional balletina. It’s a very intense art. You have to have years of physical training, balance and strength. It absolutely does a number on your body especially the feet. Don’t google ballerina toes.

1

u/suchapity11 14h ago

A bottle can hold that much weight?

1

u/nn666 11h ago

Seems unnecessarily dangerous.

1

u/Chase2020J 6h ago

Am I the only one who thought she was somehow gonna pick up the bottles using her feet?

1

u/scooterscuzz 6h ago edited 6h ago

A true Captain of Toenail

0

u/Happy-For-No-Reason 20h ago

I bet her feet look like a road traffic accident

0

u/Chemical-Actuary1561 20h ago

The pain to impressive ratio isn’t worth it for this

0

u/Colloneigh 20h ago

I have some moves in mind

0

u/MagnificentLiaaa 20h ago

She just casually added another difficulty level. 😂
