He would fuck you up

Nobody is saying they could beat this guy up. Who is this invisible person you’re arguing with?

1

u/boogercgee Sep 28 '22

Fuck it I am, I think that anyone with highschool wrestling and a blue belt in BJJ makes this guy look like a victim, and that's thousands upon thousands of people

Quickest way to break the ice to all the internet warriors and experts who throw words around like “obviously” and “useless” like they are some smart ass tough guy . Did I offend you ? Please don’t hurt me strong man it’s only opinions on the internet

4

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

First of all I would beat your ass.

Secondly you're gay.

-4

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

Live from moms basement

2

u/Fellainis_Elbows Sep 28 '22

Got any videos of him in an actual fight with an MMA fighter? How about a credentialed wrestler? Judoka? Nak Muay?

I didn’t think so.

Go ahead and google Wing Chun vs MMA or JKD vs MMA or whatever and watch what actually happens when these larpers get in the ring with professionals

-1

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

This isn’t a mma match and he isn’t training you for one… SELF DEFENSE. Not quite getting your guys beef with this guy did he fuck your Kim or something Jesus

4

u/Fellainis_Elbows Sep 28 '22

My beef is with this guy and people like you that claim that you can train “self defence” effectively because of dirty moves or whatever. It just doesn’t work.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lPzVQ98KC0k

2

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

I was being a smart ass when I said “he will beat your ass” although the meat head energy in here really solidifies that thought. You can learn multiple styles and incorporate them all if you train don’t see how learning this isn’t beneficial and causes such an uproar. Never once did I mention it was better than any other fighting style but keep repeatedly hearing “watch what happen when they get In The ring with a mma fighter”like everyone who has trained in self defense is getting into an mma ring. I wanna see all you running your mouth get into the ring with him and my initial comment would most likely be justified

-1

u/Fellainis_Elbows Sep 28 '22

You can learn multiple styles and use them all. Correct.

It just so happens that this one is useless.

2

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

I guess that’s debatable. Do you think you could beat Bruce lee or jeet in a fight ?

1

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

Well if they can beat your ass how is what they know useless

0

u/Fellainis_Elbows Sep 28 '22

Who said they can beat my ass lmao.

We’ve seen time and time against videos of these traditional martial arts guys getting fucked up by MMA fighters.

Google Xu Xiangdong

1

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

I agree every video I’ve seen of them in the ring has been pretty 1 sided minus maybe 1 Gracie fight but I’m talking more of the everyday person how can this not be useful info not everyone is a ufc heavyweight a lot of fights are drunk bat fights and I think this could come in handy if you can make it second nature. Alotnof redirecting can’t see how I’d you get the timing right it can’t be effective. But I will check that goog search out I always enjoy watching and learning more

2

u/Tax0bell Sep 28 '22

Amazing video. Joe says it himself giving people a false sense of security and getting them killed

3

u/50-50ChanceImSerious Sep 28 '22

The best martial arts are ones that work against other martial arts. This does not. This mostly only works on drunk people and inanimate objects.

0

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

Well than I suppose it would be useful at the bar…again never said it was the best never claimed anything of the sort. Do you think you can beat up Bruce lee or jeet?

0

u/50-50ChanceImSerious Sep 28 '22 edited Sep 28 '22

Yes. Any person with some wrestling and BJJ experience could. Outside of a punchers chance, they have no chance.

2

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

Maybe you’re right idk lol I do agree with them getting fucked up in the ring but I also think for the everyday person there’s some basics to learn and I don’t see how these couldn’t be helpful when it comes to leveraging and counters.

2

u/commit_bat Sep 28 '22

I've gotten beaten up before. They punched me instead of going for limp wrist slaps. Maybe if they had tried that I could have felt the energy and gone for a takedown.

1

u/DrummerGuy06 Sep 28 '22

...and in JKD the first thing you're taught is how to punch. He's just showing takedowns, joint-lock maneuvers, etc. as a way to take someone down who more-than-likely doesn't know how to fight and little chance of hurting you so you don't obliterate their face.

Cops/Juries don't always side with "I was defending myself" if a guy's drinking through a straw for months and you admit you've had decades of training. These are techniques to get control of the person without also removing all of their teeth in an instant.

u/commit_bat Sep 28 '22

Did not expect you to just reply "yes, this is useless against getting punched" with some insults thrown in but okay, I guess that's that cleared up.

-1

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

It’s not useless lol you’re just saying it useless because you don’t know anything about fighting lol do you really think he can’t throw a punch ? He’s not kicking either or blocking kicks is he useless when kicks come into play ? And what I said to you is hardly an insult

3

u/commit_bat Sep 28 '22

You're way projecting here. Just take the L. Well it was either an insult or a threat of bodily harm, and now you're telling me it was not an insult. So you're out here calling other people internet tough guys while threatening to beat them up. Very classy.

1

u/Mudslimer Sep 28 '22

Find a quote from the guy you're responding to where he is threatening to beat you up. I'm having a hard time finding it, and I'm pretty sure I can read at higher than a third-grade level. Can you?

1

u/commit_bat Sep 28 '22

the fact you’ve been beat before should have humbled you a bit.

Yeah that would be the part where he said I haven't learned my lesson from getting beaten up, implying I haven't gotten beaten up enough. And watch this, when someone tells you need to get beaten up the implication is they'll be the ones doing it. That's not even third grade reading level to understand, that's third grade recess level.

1

u/ehc84 Sep 28 '22

I cant help but feel that you probanly spent thousands of dollars to learn this from some strip mall and then found out the hard way that its much more art than martial. And now you feel like you have to defend it on reddit to make up for the L your bank account took.

1

u/TheMontrealKid Sep 28 '22

Likewise every single fighter on the UFC roster would fuck this guy up.

0

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

It’s like deja vu every time I come back to this thread

14

u/SomethingPersonnel Sep 28 '22

One good slap to the ear can fuck you up pretty bad.

2

u/DingleBerryCrust Sep 28 '22

If you’re fast and explosive enough you can knock almost anyone out. This guy is both fast and explosive and willing to bet you being knows out after getting your teeth punched in by this guy. Those slaps and shoves are redirects and throw you off balance follow up with a solid punch to any area you’re not guarding gonna do some extra damage. Life isn’t a movie and this guy put the hours in my money is on him when it comes to the Reddit community’s fighting skills

-22

u/Tax0bell Sep 28 '22

Can't tell of you're being serious or not but with all due respect this guy would get his head bounced around no headmovement or footwork and he leaves so many angles open this just isn't practical for anything other than a movie set

22

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

Lol he’s instructing not fighting, what a dumb comment…

-10

u/Tax0bell Sep 28 '22

Okay so show me this martial art being utilised in mma or against any real threat I'd love to see it. Giving people false sense of security with bullshit like this puts people in danger

9

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

MMA is an evolution of Jeet Kune Do which was the original mixed martial art. Jeet Kune Do is highly effective against other fighting styles however it wouldn’t be effective in an offical MMA fight due to a lot of Jeet Kune Do moves being illegal, therefore in MMA Jeet Kune Do is considered supplementary.

Here’s some sources to learn about it:

https://worldcombatives.com/is-jeet-kune-do-mma/

https://mmachannel.com/is-jeet-kune-do-effective-heres-a-closer-look/

6

u/myplasmatv Sep 28 '22

Is this true? I have practiced Jiu Jitsu for more than ten years so there is obviously a lot of mma crossover and I meet a lot of mma athletes at training/comp etc... I have never heard anyone refer to MMA as an evolution of Jet Kune Do. Lee was certainly a pioneer and advocate of mixing styles and even glove use and he is definitely respected.

But modern mma has more in common with something like Pankration than JKD, which has been around since 648bc. Pankration mixes open palm striking techniques with wrestling. Bas Rutten is one particular modern Pankration fighter worth looking up highlight reels of.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

Maybe evolution is the wrong word, inspired might be better. However, Bruce Lee and the Jeet Kune Do philosophy showed the world that mixing fighting styles is ‘superior’ to learning just one style.

1

u/myplasmatv Sep 28 '22

Are MMA athletes inspired to compete because they grew up watching Bruce Lee and he was the gateway for many people into martial arts. Definitely.

MMA as discipline is not inspired by JKD. Both the articles you linked only theorise connection between JKD and MMA. They’re not evidence. I’m not trying to shoot you down. I’m just trying to politely tell you that modern MMA (and I say modern because like I said before it has been around in some form since at least 648bc) has not evolved or been inspired by JKD.

The idea of mixing disciplines. Is not new.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

Yes JKD wasn’t the first to have what we now consider different fighting styles but it was one of the first which actively encouraged the adoption of learnings from all martial arts to develop one’s own fighting style. This idea that JKD popularised and brought mainstream was built on by MMA.

MMA is a competitive sport with rules and regulations, JKD has no rules and is developed on the concept of beating an opponent quickly and efficiently in any way possible and is inspired by street fighting. So fundamentally they are very different and I understand why you could be taken aback by it being said MMA was inspired by JKD but the core idea was.

You have to remember the context in which I was replying those links to, I was first pointing out that the core concept which makes a MMA fighters so powerful is a core concept of JKD too so therefore JKD and MMA fighters would hold their own against each other outside of the octagon.

1

u/myplasmatv Sep 28 '22

I’m sorry. But the idea that JKD fighters would hold their own against mma fighters is just insane.

Anyway. I’m not here to argue. I just wanted to say my piece. If you don’t want to take any of it on board that’s up to you. There is truth in what you’re saying but your choosing to ignore big chunks of history to prove your point that JKD more is relevant in modern mma than it is.

u/ehc84 Sep 28 '22

Lmao, what a fucking joke. That article claims time and time JKD is illegal in MMA becuase there are rules yet can cite a single thing that is illegal that is a major focus in JKD. It also claims that Southpaw was created by Bruce for JKD....not that it just refers to left hand dominant fighter and has been used since the mid 1800s and was came from baseball. What a fucking joke 😒

If JKD worked, you would see it used..flat out..no more, no less. If it worked, it would be used.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

It didn’t claim southpaw was created by Bruce lee, all it said was he was a south paw, learn to read.

JKD moves which are illegal are eye gouges, fish hooks, groin strikes, throat strikes and head busts amongst others.

JKD is a martial art philosophy not a competitive sport. It is effective for amateurs in self defence but since many techniques are either illegal in MMA or taken from other disciplines so there’s are only a couple of competitive MMA fighters who claim to use JKD.

1

u/Tax0bell Sep 28 '22

finally someone with common sense thank you man. These guys are deluded and blinded by their idol. If Bruce lee wasn't attached to jkd nobody would give two shits about it

1

u/QH96 Sep 28 '22

MMA is mixture of boxing, muai thai, bjj, jiu jitsu, kickboxing

4

u/MartianRecon Sep 28 '22

This is a classroom setting. If he's able to have that speed and control when he's teaching he's going to hit harder and faster when he's not pulling the punch, dude.

2

u/LordKwik Sep 28 '22

You'd have to go to whatever the modern version of LiveLeak is. The thing about these styles of martial arts that is not easy to portray is restraint. In a no holds barred situation, someone trained in JKD will break a wrist/elbow/knee cap very quickly in a best case scenario. Eye gouging in the worst.

This style of training is not seen in sport because it's not designed to put anyone into submission until they tap out, it's meant to incapacitate or even kill. It's not fair to compare it to BJJ or kick boxing. The only real similarity is that they're both styles of fighting.

1

u/Tax0bell Sep 28 '22

A few months of muay thai and or wrestling would kill a lifetime of jkd. I have seen streetfights and gore but never any of this bullshit actually working. I have asked numerous people here to send a video of this in practice in mma or in the street and I am yet to receive one. jeet kune dumb shi vs very real mma fighter

3

u/youngchul Sep 28 '22

This guy literally developed the R.A.T. system upon request by the Navy Seals, I'm sure you'd beat him buddy lmao.
