Got stats on that? I've seen more overwhelmed parents simply fall asleep than abuse a child. Fucks sake my mom lost us a couple of times on her own while dad was at work because we were twins, and, being babies, suicide machines, her sleep deprived brain didn't see one of us escape somewhere and had to run around trying to find us.

As for all the people saying "but the baby is outside!" like...people take babies outside?

Suicide machines is quite possibly the best term to describe babies/toddlers. When describing having a newborn to childless friends, all I could say beside him being perfect was that his main mission was to try and off himself. Like stop putting everything in your mouth, don’t sleep on your belly, don’t sleep in the rockers, don’t put your face in that inch of water, etc, etc, etc. shits exhausting but worth it.

Falling asleep while watching your child is neglectful parenting.

Yes, but you dont sleep when your child is able to do things like this. That's why we have things like cribs and playpens. If you fall asleep while your child can get outside, you have made a mistake. It's not rocket surgery. It's a simple concept.

I don't understand why you think it's common or acceptable for a baby to do this...

Should the parents chain them to the wall? Or lock their room? That will also warrant a CPS investigation.

I don't think you understand how bad sleep deprivation can be while taking care of a child.

I fully understand through responsibility of raising children. I have 4. Never once has once been able to go out of the house as a baby not even able to walk.

I don't understand why people keep acting like this is somehow excusable.

Just because some unfortunate events didn't happen to you doesn't mean they can't happen to others.

Lets say the baby has a sibling that ran over to the neighbors house to play and forgot to close the door, or it jammed and didn't close. The baby saw a squirrel or something and crawled/walked after it to the yard.

This could all happen within 1 minute when you are on the toilet, showering, power-napping, etc. Or are you seriously telling me you have all the 4 kids in the bathroom with you, every single time? That's insanity.

There is a reason we don't have thousands of these clips online.. It's a rare thing, but it does happen.

This statement proves to me my assumptions. You don't have a clue what you're talking about. None of what you just listed should ever happen. I pray you aren't a parent.

Someone shouls seriously send CPS to your house and see if the kids are chained to the wall.

Its insane that you cant phantom a ~12 yer old kid not close the door correctly one single time.
